A scene
Female students are not allowed in male residence halls, and male students are not allowed in female residence halls. But of course college students find creative ways of getting around this. On the ground floor of the building next door, I see a modern-day Romeo and Juliet, forbidden by conservative policy from being in a dorm room together. She sits in his open window (no screens on the windows here), and he leans outside from his room to talk to her. She is not, technically, inside the building. They are talking and laughing, gently illuminated by the light from his dorm room.

Ummm... wouldn't having the male and female residence halls so close to one another (and with screenless windows, too) encourage a few Peeping Toms?
ReplyDeleteJen, I love feeling as though I'm part of your life there. Next time you see a "Crazy" lady walking around. Remember me. I'll keep an eye on your family and mine.
ReplyDeleteCitrine: The rooms have curtains, just no screens. Plus, any peeping Tom would be just as visible as his target, so it doesn't seem like something anyone needs to worry about.
